Why I Quit My Job Recently

I’m excited to share that I’ll be directing a short film soon!

Titled “JUST BECAUSE WE’RE FRIENDS”, it follows a young woman who one night initiates sex with her prudish male best friend in the hope of starting romance. But things become complicated, putting their friendship at risk.

Can love come after sex? Or must love come first before sex?

The film is inspired by the common societal pressure to get married in your 20s, particularly for women. While some of my single friends have turned to Tinder, others have settled down with someone they’ve known since young or through school. This short film will explore the latter scenario, but with sex thrown in as a stumbling block.

Through a comedic, light-hearted approach, this project hopes to open up conversations and entertain at the same time.

  2. Kathryn Bigelow
  3. Andrea Arnold

I was stuck. I had no problem rattling off names of famous male directors. Yet, I don’t even know enough female directors to count on one hand.
